Call out for Fellow-led events to commemorate Human Rights Day

"To deny people their human rights is to challenge their very humanity. To impose on them a wretched life of hunger and deprivation is to dehumanise them." NELSON MANDELA (1990)
Human Rights Day is observed annually around the world on Dec. 10 to commemorate the anniversary of one of the world's most groundbreaking global pledges: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
From Dec. 1 to Dec. 10, the Atlantic Institute will host a series of Fellow-led virtual webinars/workshops or lectures on key issues related to human rights. Focused on different geographic and thematic areas, the sessions will be curated conversations for Fellows to connect and discuss key areas related to the protection of human rights.
The events will aim to inform the Atlantic Fellows community and provide forums for those with shared interests to connect. We encourage Fellows who are working or collaborating across programs to apply. The Institute will support formats that can include lectures, webinars or workshops but each event will encourage significant participation from all those attending the calls.
Please register your expressions of interest here by Nov. 23, 2024.
While we will do everything we can to support in making your event a success, there will be no financial support or speaker's fees for this series.
