Meet the new Global Atlantic Fellows Advisory Board
The Atlantic Institute is pleased to announce the second cohort of the Global Atlantic Fellows Advisory Board (GFAB) 2024-2026. This cohort takes the reins from the inaugural group, who were able to set the tone and develop practices and frameworks that have brought Fellows’ voices and perspectives more centrally into the work of the Atlantic Institute. We celebrate what they were able to achieve despite the complications of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The selection of the 2024 GFAB cohort followed a rigorous review process involving staff from all seven Atlantic Fellows programs, two members of the first Global Atlantic Fellows Advisory Board and Atlantic Institute staff. We received 64 applications in total, so it was a challenge to arrive at just two representatives per program given the exceptional quality of the applicants. Their skills, knowledge, talents and achievements were inspiring. Although we would have liked every applicant to bring their unique and valuable insights to this platform, we are confident that the process we followed has created a new GFAB group that is experienced and diverse, ready to meet the task with passion and humility. The members of this group come from many countries spread across the world, which will enrich the Institute in many ways.
Over the next two years, GFAB will play a pivotal role in helping shape our programming, communications and decision-making. They will also deepen the connections between the seven Atlantic Fellows programs and the Atlantic Institute.
The Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity (AFSE) program shared: “The AFSE team is excited to work with the newly formed GFAB and congratulates all Fellows who applied. We see GFAB as an essential part of the Atlantic ecosystem and look forward to the ways that GFAB will strengthen the collaborative work across the Atlantic Institute, each program and Global Atlantic Fellows, towards the shared goals of social equity.”
The Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health shared: “Heartfelt congratulations to each member of the Global Atlantic Fellows Advisory Board (GFAB) in this second cohort of leaders! Tremendous thanks to our partners and colleagues at the Atlantic Institute for the selection work! GFAB brings the Global Atlantic Fellow voice directly into decision-making and guidance that shapes the Atlantic Fellows community. We at GBHI are grateful for this and to also have the program representation by Global Atlantic Fellows and the bridging that the board members create between Atlantic Institute efforts and the programs. We look forward to collaborating!”
Please join us in welcoming them and we hope you will meet them yourself at some of our future convenings. Find out more about the 2024 GFAB cohort.
