Atlantic community staff exchanges
Staff exchanges present lots of benefits, both for the host and the participant, in building knowledge, inspiring new ideas and increasing levels of collaborative working in a community. Within the Atlantic community, staff exchanges can also be used to learn and support one another across different geographies, cultures and sectors. Leadership shadowing is also an opportunity for self-development and helps develop a new generation of leaders, creating the conditions for succession in the longer term.
As of November 2022, the Institute will help organize exchanges of up to two weeks for program staff and Institute staff. One staff member from each program will be considered in each calendar year (July - June). You will need to have at least one year of working for your own program before applying for an exchange.
Staff members who enter into an exchange with another program will be expected to ‘shadow’ a counterpart (i.e. attend all meetings and spend extended time with them) or embed themselves into a program for a set period (e.g., during the design of a module or over a “recruitment week”).
The Institute will cover all travel costs related to the exchange and provide a small stipend for incidentals and meals.
Anyone interested should apply from Nov. 14, 2022. Applications will close on Dec. 20, 2022.

Decisions will be made after the executive directors of both programs involved have been consulted. Applicants will be contacted in February 2023.
